Twenty Seconds

20seconds

Twenty seconds of insane courage. I’m still waiting on it. Maybe my life will stay the same, or it might suck, or maybe it will get better. Maybe in that twenty seconds, I’ll finally admit that I like him. Or that I’ll finally tell my boss that I quit. Or that I’ll finally tell my parents that I’m not happy.

In that twenty seconds of insane courage, I’ll be free of the burden I’ve been keeping to myself. Then, the load may get light or it may become heavier and that is exactly the reason why I am frightened: the consequences that 20 seconds entails.
